Help finding a motherboard for a Athlon 2200+ 133fsb

I have a Athlon 2200+ CPU I need a new motherboard for. The CPU FSB is 133Mhz. So far I haven't been able to find a socket A board that I'm sure supports it. I looked through the boards on NewEgg (and TigerDirect) and they only list fsb speeds of 200/266/333/400. I also went to a few of the manufacturers sites to check the manuals and they don't mention supporting 133Mhz.

Update: After doing some research, I'm not sure if 133Mhz is even correct. Wikipedia lists it at 266Mhz and CPU World and techPowerUp! list it at 133Mhz.

Here's a bit more info on the CPU.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

For DDR, that's PC 2100, which is DDR 266. DDR 266 performs twice the number of memory operations that PC-133 can, because the former only responds once per cycle, while the latter does so twice. All DDR RAM (TTBOMK) is perfectly happy running more slowly than its rated speed when matched to a cpu running at a slower speed.

I'm sure I will find some at Newegg.

I'll take my own look at Newegg now. I found five. They range in price from $44 to $84. They range in quality from "unknown" (Mach Speed) to Excellent, for the Epox pair.

It's true that your CPU is designed to run at an FSB of 133MHz (double pumped to 266MHz DDR).

It will run in-spec on almost any Socket A (also known as Socket 462) from the last five years. Socket A processors were released with FSB 100, 133, 166, and 200 (double pumped to 200, 266, 333 and 400 DDR). The more recent boards (e.g. based on the NForce2 chipset) are designed for the 200MHz FSB, while being backwards compatible with lower FSBs.

Memory is best run in-sync with the FSB (although some boards allow out-of-sync memory speeds): that means DDR memory that can run at 266MHz (faster rated memory is fine). For older boards that run SDR instead of DDR RAM, you'll need 133MHz SDR RAM.

My recommendation is a newer Socket A board (e.g. the Abit NF7-S v2.0) that will recognise your processor, allow overclocking, and open up the possibility for upgrades.
