Help find an impossible Compaq part..... [reward]

254108-001 14.1 XGA TFT LCD ASSY EVO N115 / PRES 7XX $415.00

It is for my Compaq Presario 710US laptop.

That is for the whole LCD Assembly.... I only need the top bezel. (The top on the laptop when it is closed) It is cracked, and I want a new one.

These are the only two numbers on the particular part that I need (they were on the inside of the bezel):
SL 901229.5
and
AA9551100001S0 B

Well the problem is, they RARELY sell Just a part from the assembly.

Soooo...... your mission if you choose to accept it, is to find me one online or elsewhere, and if it is under $40, I will give you $10 Paypal.

I know, I know.... no services.... so if one of the mods don't like it, just PM me and I will remove that line.

At one point i knew of a site that only sold Compaq replacement parts - because I happen to love their keyboards and bought a few... If I can find and/or think of the name I'll let you know.

I recently had to replace some plastics for my Sony and dealt with these guys. Good experiences. Impactcomputers.com and partsolver.com

Got an LCD latch from partsolver for 6.81+ shipping and bottom case from impactcomputers for 24.90+ shipping. Both very reasonable prices. In fact, with my under $30 order, Impact sent me a t-shirt and a micro driver set as a bonus! Not a big deal, but it kind of put a good feeling in my head about the company. They both had Compaq parts, so it's worth a try.

Thanks for the links... but my laptop is only like a year old or so, and those sites only have plastic for older laptops. (Which is still useful, because I do need some plastic for older Compaq laptops too )

Check to see if it uses the same top bezel as an older model or if there are any older models that will fit in that spot.

impactcomputers is also a huge rip. They charge about twice what most other places charge for Compaq Armada parts, such as cdroms.

It's a Presario 700 series (705, 710, 715, 720, 725) So they would all fit...

There is a guy selling one on eBay right now.... for $110!!!!!!! WTF I can get teh LCD AND bezel, brand new for like $200.
