HELP!!!! Dsl router

I had a client that just had dsl installed. I wasnt present when the installer was their and he put in a 4 port dsl router . This is a router that has a console and everything used for big companies i would assume .

I was able to access the router once with the software that was given and also change the passsword. I did backup the router tables and made some changes . Couldnt get a static isp ip to work , i went back to restore the router tables and it crashed in the middle

Now the router can no longer get a link . Is this something that i might be able to fix or should i call the install back and pay him for another setup ?

Please i need help here
 
Hmm, well there is a time to try and a time to admit you are over your head. Sounds like you aren't really sure what to do or what model you are dealing with, if it isn't price prohibitive I would just get him back there to fix it right, and if you want to learn how it works try to ask him to explain it to you while he is there.
