I work helpdesk. mon-fri, So this happens often.

i notice that the users, feel that they need to be super computer savy to change there password
i get this all the time when they cannot wrap there heads around changing there password. "as you can see im not a computer genius" and instead of genius you can use tech, wizard, god, guru.
They always insist that they are not computer litterate

they also say thay they feel bad for us, like we made a bad career choice...

any other helpdesk techs out there think and feel the same way lol

I'm glad your company hires ESL students as their helpdesk. All the negatives of outsourcing while also paying more.

usually when they say these types of things they are referring to you having to deal with people like themselves. these types of comments ease their guilt from not knowing something as simple as changing a password. thats why they beef up your stature (calling you tech/ god/ expert/ whatever) and lower theirs. cut them a little slack. and google their/ there.

i can certainly type with good grammar, and spelling, but this is the internet. and simplfying statements is kind of how it goes.
