Is this a Dresden core or an Austin core?

I'm 90% sure that the core's color is blue...perhaps this means that it is a Dresden core with copper interconnects.

This is a T-Bird 900 Retail. How much should I expect this cpu to overclock with the KT7A.

I hope all those AMD gurus can assist me with these questions. Thanks.

Thanks. I think I guessed the 0052 was an indication of the production date. Anyhow, is this good.

The 0900 of course indicates that it's a 900Mhz processor. Like toph99 said, the 0052 means year 2000, week 52. I think that the bottom number is just the individual serial number of your chip and doesn't contain any information. The B at the end of the first row means it's a 100MHz FSB part, the new 133MHz FSB parts are C. And this should be a Dresden processor, I believe that all 900MHz+ parts are Dresden.

At this speed (I've got a 900 too), it depends... Maybe 1GHz, maybe 1.2, you can't be sure, just try it and see.

Check overclockers.com for info on overclocking perticulars on this specific week and others. Just look at the CPU database for AMD.

Thanks for posting the reference to the database at overclockers. I just got a T-800 and was wondering about the possibilities with the KT7A. Now if my arctic silver would just get here I could get started.
