Help! D3d lost textures

I have a Geforce 3 (gainward, powerpack, non golden sample) running Win Me and the first gen of the det XPs and use the latest Nvmax for tweekage, slight overclock, but well within design specs for the parts. I picked up some bargain bin games at compusa last night, Deep Space 9: The Fallen (which is actually better than Elite Force, IMO, which is surprising) and Adventure Pinball: Forgotten Island (I also got Curse of monkey island, Master of Orion 2, Civ 2 2CD pack, Driver, Hidden and Dangerous, lots of great stuff--check out your local ones) but anyway:

I started Adventure Pinball today and noticed that 4xFSAA wasn't working, so I restarted the program. This time, FSAA was working, but there wasn't a texture to be seen. I started up DS9, and it seemed to have the same problem, although there were a few textures. Really strange: Screenshot Same thing with 3dmark2k1--in the demo, the statue of the woman looks matte grey, no detail.

Quake III looks normal, so I'm assuming it's just D3d screwed up.

Thanks for any help or just readin'.

I reinstalled DX 8.1, got the newest Det Xps, and installed rivatuner instead of nvmax (and how the heck does rivatuner work!@#&$!) and now, textures are back, but FSAA doesn't seem to want to work. :|
