I just received a new Athlon XP 2100+ today and tried installing it, but now my computer won't start up. Well the computer starts, but the monitor won't click on. I tested it on different video cards and different monitors, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I just upgraded from a Duron 900 and my mobo is a Jetway 867AS. I looked at this website and it looks like it says that for a XP 2100+ on the 867AS the BOM version has to either be 11 or 17...or maybe just 17. But I don't even know what the BOM version is so is that fixable with an upgrade or would I just need to get a new mobo? Also, on this webpage there is a BIOS update, but would that help the problem?

Thanks for the help.

a bios upgrade would definitely help.. try that first... stick your duron back in... flash your bios with the most recent one then try again

Alright..well I flashed the BIOS to what I believe is the latest update for it. But does anyone know what a BOM version is? From that webpage it looks like I will need BOM version 17 but I have no clue what that is

I'd think it was the PCB/BIOS revision (BOM..Bill of Materials  list of parts that make up the mobo)..X, 11, and 17 . Here is shuttle's version and a possible way to determine yours.
