Help! - CPU Temps increased a lot after BIOS Update

I have a MSI K7N2-Delta L with a AMD Barton 2500+ and a Spreze FalconRock HSF w/AS3. I just upgraded the BIOS on my MSI K7N2-Delta L board and my cpu temps have increased by 10C. I upgraded my BIOS twice and after each upgrade, my temps have increased. My system temp has basically stayed the same (around 32-37C). Here are the temps I had:

When I first got the board (7/03):
CPU Idle: 36C
CPU Load: 41C

After first BIOS update (8/03):
Idle: 44C
Load: 51C

After second BIOS update (current, 9/20/03):
Idle: 56C
Load: 63C

I am reading these from the BIOS and from PC Alert 4 (both give about the same reading). My system is at stock speed also. I haven't OC as yet. You can see more of my system specs in my sig link below.

I was wondering which temps should I go by? Which ones are correct?? Should I be worried about these new current temps? Should I get a new HSF?? Would a new HSF (like Thermalright SLK-800 w/panaflo L1A) reduce my temps significantly?

Thanks for any input you can give.

Ok. I was thinking that it might be something wrong in my computer (like the hsf). I reinstalled my HSF with AS3 and I got the idle temps down 2-4C. I hope MSI releases an update to fix that temp problem.

pelikan is right.

I have a k7n2-l(non Delta) and I have the opposite phenomena as you, a BIOS update "lowered" my temps 20c. :D I'm hoping they fix it, my clock also gains 10mins every 3-4 days or so.

I moved a A1700xp / SK7 from a Asus MB to a Biostar MB and the temps went up 20c. I decided that temps = BS. As long as the system is stable, ignore them.

Cool. I'm going to do the same thing - ignore the temps.

maybe the bios update calibrated the temp readings to the cpu's built-in DIODE directly and not from the onboard socket temp coz in general this ~10C difference is between socket temps and diode temps
