Help (CPU temp)

Hi. I have 3500+ Newcastle and NEO2.
I purchased this combo from Monarch.com. When I received it, the CPU and heatsink were already installed.
As I purchased the retail cpu, the heatsink was the stock one.
This puppy did not produce any problem until now. I have 1.5v and 3.3% up option and the temp of CPU did not go more than 50 celcius. It was overclocked to 2.64 Ghz.
Now I have CPU temp higher than 60. As such, the computer freezes up after 10-15 minutes.
I'm checking the temp with corecenter from MSI and I don't know what to do now.
Should applying AS5 to stock heatsink help or should I purchase XP90?
Your suggestion is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Yes applying AS5 should help greatly. 2.64 is a pretty high OC for a 3500+ (which is 2.2 iirc), you might as well back it off to 2.6 and run like 1.4v at 8.3% overvid.

I agree with Mrvile. However; IIRC, there was a thread here wherein Monarch's warranty will be voided if you add thermal paste on your own.

Edit: HERE is the thread.

Just be careful when spreading it so it doesn't get anywhere but the heatspreader.

Thanks for your information.

Monarch only gurantees for 90 days or something, doesn't it?
I would expect to get warranty covered by AMD since mine is a retail cpu if anything happens.
Thanks.
