Help cpu tem too high?

Hi, I need some help on CPU Temp. Right now I am encodeing mpg2 video and do some internet surfing, my cpu is 72c with stock fan. when it Idle aroung 59-65 c. Should I looking in to better cooler and which one you guy suggest.

BTW, I just finish putting my new Comp( it took me awhile to completed):

-Dual core pentium 820 (LGA 775)
-Asus P5LD2 (945P chipset)
-OCZ Gold Series 2x512MB DDR2-667 RAM
-Antec P180
-Antec SP 2.0 500wt
-160gb sata wd
-40gb maxtor 133
-Plextor 716a

idle at 59-65 does sounds high. Did you put thermal grease on?
How the ventalation?

I use the AS5 thermal on the stock hsf, the ventalation is good, my mb temp is 38c idle.

sounds normal... you DO have TWO prescotts in there.

If I buy the aftermarket hsf, will it cool down my pentium d 820?

Again, you do have the hottest (temp wise) running processors available.

1 - see if a XP-90C cpu heatsink will fit your mobo. (more than likely - yes) and get a Panaflow 92mm M1 fan.

2. - add a side blowhole to your new case, I did and it made a diff.
