Hey I just bought A new HD and Vid card and CD-Rom. I put it in my old case that i used to use as my gaming rig. I already had a mobo and cpu and power supply in my old rig sitting in it from when i used it cuz I moved the HD/vid-card/cd-rom to my new rig. This is why i bought these new items. I want to have two working comps. I Put everything in as the manuals say but when i turn it on, It powers up and the monitor stays in standby mode(Orange light, not the Green On light.) If you need more info please tell me and ill glady give it to you. Im sorry for asking newb questions but i wanna get my comp workin.

My HD is - HITACHI Deskstar 7K250 160GB 7200 RPM 8M Cache IDE Ultra ATA100

Welcome to the Forums :) Could you give these to start with:

1) brand & model of the power supply

2) brand & model of the motherboard

3) what CPU it is on that system

Found the problem thanks anyways, You prolly woulda found it fater than me if i didnt take all day trying trial and error. My mobo on the old rig im rebuilding does not support Ultra ATA drives which is the HD that i got, so I switched em between comps and its working fine. Just installing wondows on that new hd on other comp. Thanks for trying to help.
