I bought the mobo and cpu from someone off hardforums.

after all the testing, I thought it would be the mobo that had problem. I did a RMA for the mobo and got it back. the result is still the same. it gotta be the cpu now.

I made the deal with him about 2 months ago.

what am I going to do with cpu? can I get the warranty?

I found something more interesting just now. I just realized the seller sent me an amd64 3200+

It all seems sketchy...

How do you know it isn't your power supply?? Do have the power supply plugged into the mobo in 2 places??? 20pin and separate 4 pin

Did you make sure the clear cmos jumper is in the normal position???

Did you plug the HSF into the correct cpu fan header on the board???

Try multiple sticks of ram and in different slots, multiple and single???

Was the chip a retail chip with a stock fan??? If so they may be all you need...I rma'd an older xp and I didn't have the box and paper left but the stock fan has a serial number on it and that is all they needed....

I would send it all back to the guy at hardforums bu then be dman sure it wasn't me missing something. You were nice enough to RMA a believed DOA board...I would have sent the crap back to himm then!!!
