HELP: Corrupt Hard Drive Files - Switched from Master to Slave

I recently built a new computer and I took my old hard drives out and put them in the new one.

One is 30gb, and the other is 200gb.

Originally the 200gb was the master, and the 30gb the slave.

When I put them in the new one, I changed the jumpers to make the 30gb the master, 200gb the slave.

When I booted up the computer, installed windows XP just fine on the master, I noticed on my 200gb hard drive, that some of my files had become corrupted.

I didn't format or touch any of the drive.

I was told switching from master to slave can screw it up.

What should I do to recover my files? I have some backed up on CD, but not everything.

I suggest you get the utility from teh manufactuer and check your slave drive, changing the jumper from master to slave or vice versa will not cause data corruption, but it would be good for you to explain what you mean by corrupted exactly.

The 200GB har drive is partitioned into several drives. Theres only one partition that seems to be having problems. Like I said, before the drive was fine, but after I put it in the new computer, alot of my files became corrupt (corrupt as in you get nothing when you try to open them), the corrupt files seemed to be random... as in a directory would have a few files corrupted, while the rest were fine (it wasn't just one section of the partition that got screwed).
