Core 2 Duo 1.86
ASUS P5B-E
2GB G-Skill PC 6400
Seagate Baracuda 250GB
eVGA 7600GT
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi

It boots from the Windows XP CD into the blue Windows Setup screen. It loads various drivers and then says "Setup Is Starting Windows". It looks like it restarts but the screen just goes blank and the case light turns off. The fans stay on and it just hangs there with a blank scren.

I'm thinking it's having a problem with the onboard JMicron SATA Controller. I haven't built a computer with SATA before.

Anyone have any experience with the P5B-E and JMicron SATA controller?

Check your HSF, too...

Quick test to see if it's the HSF: go into the BIOS SETUP, and leave it sitting there for 30 minutes. If it fails, then it's overheating...

It doesn't seem to be the monitor. The monitor is still recieving a signal. If I force a restart it boots back to a blinking cursor.

This is the first computer I have built without a Floppy Drive. Is a floppy necessary to boot windows?

OK. The problem is that Windows XP SP2 has no SATA drivers. Any idea how to instal the SATA drivers without a floppy?
