Help connecting multiple hubs together

I'm trying to set up for a little lan party me and a few friends are doing(nothing big) I have a 5 port 10/100 and a 4 port 10.....i want to hook them together, i've tried every combination of ports and uplink settings and such, but to no avail, i'm thinking my 10/100 can't see my 10, since it's a lower speed and it's not auto detecting...anything i can do to get them to see eachother so i can fit 7 people in? thanks!!

I'm not sure about all hubs, but my netgears use the port closest to the uplink button for uplinking. I also think I have a cross-over cable between them, but I may be wrong. I hadn't set it up in a long time.

I've tried the uplink on both of them.......both in normal and in uplink mode, both in every config i could come up with.....i think it's cuz its not auto detecting, it's not a problem anymore, one of my friends ends up having an 8port 10/100 so that will work much nicer
thanks though
