[HELP] CONNECTING 2 LANS WIRELESSLY

Well basically my friend lives behind my house across the alley, and we want to share files from one to another, and possibly in the future printers but for now we just wan to share files, heres the best way i can explain it

my questions are:
what should i put in the middle as the bridge?
is this even possible?

That's a tall order there. You'd need either need enough wireless adapters to have two complete seperate networks, or you would have to make it one class C network with manually configured TCP/IP settings, so each house would use the proper gateway.

If you put an Access Point (or a Wireless Router configured with as an Access Point) that is fitted with a Directional Antenna in the Window that is seen in the 3rd picture, and a similar Access point in a Window that can be seen on the second house, you would be able to Bridge.

The connection inside each house should follow the principles as described in the link in my first post above.

so jack, would these two acces points be an addition to the routers that are currently at both lans? or would i have to take the current routers and put them as u suggsted?

If you take the current Router and put it with a directional Antenna in the Window you would have any Wireles service inside the location.

No matter what you would have to buy more hardware, so you are better off doing right and buy two Wireless Routers or Acces Point that can Bridge and configure them independent from each LAN.
