Hey Guys,

I just got finished building my new machine:
Amd 2800+
512 Mushkin Ram
2 80 Maxtor SATA drives
pionier AO5 DVDr
Gforce MX 200 or something crappy like that (My Ati Radeon 9800 Pro comes in mail tomorrow)
Abit N7S-Pro mobo

I put everything together, thing worked great, set up the drives as a raid 0. Popped in winxp disk, i installed the SATA drivers, it formated the disk, then it copied the system files over. At that point winxp rebooted (Like it is supposed to).

Now.... The wierd part I can't figure out....

Everything seems to work great, until it tries to load the OS, it just doesn't load it, it just hangs there with the drives doing nothing and the screen blank. I put the windows disk back in, and it says "Setup trying to detect system settings" or something like that. At that point the screen just goes blank again....

ANyone have any ideas how I fix this?

PLease Help :-(

It is, I have had it as both the first thing to look for when booting, and second (after CDrom) either way no luck....

ANy other ideas?

Hmm you could try switching the HDD's around so you can install xp on the other one and see if it will load then, changing the boot settings in the bios to accomodate this. If its still knackered then that rules out the hdd, if it works then the 1st hdd was a bit messed.
