Help , computer won't shutdown, Fixed

Hi everyone, I added a 4th scsi 10k drive last night.
Now My computer won't shutdown, I get a bluescreen after the shutdown process, then it reboots.

The only changes I made was to un-install ezcd5.0 & some officejet print drivers.

Then I installe EZ cdreator 6 then all the problems began.

I un-installed ezcd6 but the problem is still present.


Now when I boot Linux, my computer does shutdown & power off normally.

Any idea what's going on ?

Does the problem go away if you take out the new SCSI drive, or do you think that was just a coincidence? Is your power supply above suspicion?

If Roxio has any updates available for EZ 6 then you might reinstall it and then install the update to see if that helps... I had an earlier version that would cause Win2000 to reboot when it reached the desktop, until I applied a patch (in Safe Mode) that fixed it. The patch might've been for DirectCD too, I don't recall now.

Do you have, "Enable disconnect" enabled in your scsi bios to the drive?

I disconected the drive that I added, but same prob.

I also patched ezcd6 , but problem remains.

I'll check the bios for my 29160N, but I think it defaults to enable.

I think ezcd6 messed up my computer , I'll prob have to reinstall win2k

I tried the recomendation to change the value for IRPStackSize, but it make a difference.

I'm going to reinstall ezcd5 & patch it , maybe it will fix the problem.

Before you do a reinstall/ try running regedit, search for roxio, and remove every instance. It may just do the trick for you....

I changed to the analog input for my monitor and was able to see in the blue screen the following:

"DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE"


Has anyone seen this before ?

Problem fixed, it was the ez cd/dvd creator 6 that caused my problem.
