my bro doesnt know much about computers so he put a duron in the socket w/o a HSF and he said it turned off it like 15 seconds and he might of burned it. i looked at the chip and there were NO burn marks at all. I installed the CPU, put the HSF on, and the computer turns on w/o any beeps but there is nothing on the monitor. any ideas?

An AthlonXP cuts the power in under two seconds if it's powered on and there's no heatsink, so I'm going with the R.I.P. folks here... that little 5-gram scrap of silicon can't stand 40W of heat for 15 seconds without a heatsink :(

I kind of doubt it. Hope for the best :)

From their site here, it looks like it has the KT133A chipset and supports both 200MHz-based and 266MHz-based Athlons and Durons, but most likely not AthlonXP (at least, they don't mention them). So if your bro has PC100 memory now, look for a 200MHz-based Athlon Thunderbird, or if he has PC133, then look for a 266MHz-based Athlon Thunderbird. :)
