i'm in the process of building my first comp. i've picked all the parts i need except RAM, i don't really know a whole lot about RAM but i've narrowed it down to 3. looking for some guidance for choosing between these:

CORSAIR XMS2 1GB (2 x 512MB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

OCZ Gold 1GB (2 x 512MB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

Patriot eXtreme Performance 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

hi there! welcome to the forums!!!

not to start you off on a bad note...but those links all point to different things instead of the memory.

whats your budget first of all? if you have 200 bucks or less to spend on memory, i would suggest going with a nice 2x1GB kit.

and btw, what kind of system do you have? intel p4, amd am2/skt 939?

sorry about the links, i'm trying to keep it around 1gig at the moment but i definatly want to get 2 gigs eventually, so i'm trying to stick around $100. i'm goingto be running a AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Orleans 2000MHz HT 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 processor for now, i want to save up to get a dual core eventually. i'm going to college so i don't know when that will be. i'm trying to gear my comp towards 3D apps and gaming, but 3D is the first priority.
