Help choosing Mobo and Ram

Today i gathered up 400$ to to buy a motherboard and RAM so far i was opting for this GIGABYTE GA-X38-DS4 Motherboard and 2x of This WINTEC AMPX 4GB Ram [8gb mainly for media editing & future proofing]. These are my entry choices so far.

* im looking for a mobo with x2 pci 2.0 & crossfire friendly

The X38-DS4 is a nice motherboard, but have you considered just buying 4 GB of RAM, so you'll have money left over for the CPU you say you also need?
