well my company is looking to purchase an external dvd dual layer recorder. i was hoping that pioneer or nec had an external version of their 16x dvd recorder, but from my quick search, doesn't look to be the case. i don't know much about external DVD recoders so i'm asking for opinions..what's the best brand and model to go with...does anyone make a 16x external or will one be coming out soon that i should wait for....how's plextor in the dvd world...i know before they were one of the best for cd recorders but i don't hear much about them for dvd recordings....i know sony makes an 8x external but i want other options..thanks

I second getting whatever DVD burner you want (you will have a much better selection also )
But I would get a better enclosure.
You will be money ahead this way and have a better unit.

Well, that was just a sample for an enclosure.

Just make sure it has Oxford 911 (or 922) chipset...if you plan on using the firewire plug anyway. Other than that, not sure what is a good requirement.
