I am curious if this hs/f I picked out is the best for my needs. Here it is. Well I know it's loud, and I don't much mind that because I've heard it does almost as well on half fan speed, and it has a fan speed controller.

So my question is this. Is this heatsink good for my OCing with some AS5? And are there any better options? I don't know much about other retailers, but I trust newegg the most.

Thanks!

I have that particular HSF on my Athlon 2800+ and it works very nice. When running Doom 3 and Half Life 2 the temp stays at around 42C with the fan running at 50%. If you run the fan full bore it is VERY VERY loud but I haven't had to do that. I don't OC though, but it still should be fine. Zalman, Panaflo and Thermalright make better ones from what I hear though. You might want to check those brands out also, and Newegg does sell them.

I just got that thermalright si-97 and it is fantastic. I had a copper slk 800 with a panaflow on a 2500 oc'd to 3200 with artic ceramic. I changed to the thermalright si-97 and AS5 with a 92mm fan on low speed and my temperatures went from 47deg c load to 36 deg c load. unbelieveable.

This is where I bought it for a little cheaper
