Hello,

I am in the market of purchasing a DV Cam and i need some advice, help, pros and cons on choosing the right one. This is what i need.

Great zooms (optical and digital).
good resolution on recording.
good resolution when using it to take digital pictures
physical size (smaller the better)
expandable memory
compliant to recent technologies on how to get the stuff back into the PC.

As for other functions, i am not sure what they do, and i think this is what i need. my budget is about < $600...

any suggestion?

Currently, i am looking at these two,

here

They are canon ZR65MC and sony DCR-TRV22

anyhelp is appreciated.
thanks,
tak

i have the canon zr70mc and i would rather go with the sony one instead (better at low lightening shots). the image stability on the canon is a joke and it's very bad at filming in not very well lighted environment (very slow to focus and has graininess on the screen)

people who buy digital camcorders arent buying it for taking good still pictures. you will definately be dissapointed if you want to have both good filming and still pictures in a digital camcorder. so it's much better to use a digital camera for still pictures.

I see, thanks.

so if i want good filming, the sony one will be better? do you have other selection that you know of that falls within that budget??

THanks,
tak

i have a $900 sony dvr cam thingy, and it sucks, its also really bad at taking still pictures
