But if those cheaper mobos from Gigabyte or MSI are comparable in performance then would go with those. I already have a Core I7 920 and just deciding between the mobo, and heatsink *if you can recommend any it would be appreciated*. Also this is the ram i have selected....

Im trying to build a gaming platform and try to oc to 4ghz on air.

i love my gigabyte UD5, dual BIOS means you never need to reset the CMOS if you get crazy with the settings and it won't POST.

Really don't have anything negative to say about it, best mobo I've ever owned.

I was looking at that board too but i hear some people saying that it makes a squeal noise. Is this true for all Gigabye models *maybe it's just happening with the $200 model*? And if it does how loud is it?

I would pick the UD5 or the EVGA one. Also, same memory I was looking at 😀

UD3R runs fine. Loaded all 4 slots with 2GB per.
Flashed the BIOS with @BIOS (which isn't recommended) & it went smooth.

So far i got two votes for the UD5 and one for the EVGA and UD3. This is harder than i thought it would be. I do like the support from the evga camp but if the gigabyte brand is just as good then i cant overlook that. I was looking at the foxcon bloodrage but that board only has 1pci slot *i have a wireless network card and a sound card*.

Thanks for the link. That looks like a pretty good one. Lots of people pretty happy about it. Price is $30 cheaper *on newegg* and they seem to be stable. Though i cant find any reviews for it.
