i would like a motherboard that is reliable, single memory. i dont overclocking.
for 5 or 6 devices perferable can get by with 4devices cdrw, cdrom on seperate
channels and 2 hard dr's raid ok or not

chip set doest matter. i am also considering the 3000 or 3200 xp

Check out the ASUS K8N. $90 best chipset and the best mobo maker. http://www.asus.com/products/m...et754/k8n/overview.htm

For chip the 2800 or 3000 offers best value...$140 and $160 respectivly.

Best mem is crucial.

I would say the ASRock K8S8X, made by Asus..but I can't find it no place and it's made with a bit cheaper comonents.

Best place to buy is mwave.com mobo/cpu bundles w/ free far cry game you can sell for $20 if you don't like it.

Another option is the asrock combo L board, that uses either socket 754 or socket 939. Newegg already has the new 9nm socket 939 athlon 3000 for about the same price as socket 754.
