I'd very much appreciate any thoughts on this build from a compatibility standpoint. I only build a system every 6-8 years, and my current one is 7 years and starting to cause problems. Use is primarily a lot of image editing and some light video editing. I have several excellent components, a few lightly used and others new, and am looking to purchase reliable and good quality items to complete the build without breaking the bank.
Many thanks for any help provided. I just don't get to do this very often and need a reliable system.

In Hand ...
EVGA SuperNOVA 650W G2
Samsung SSD 1 TB - PCI Express 3.0 x4 (NVMe)
Secondary: 4 TB Seagate SATA drive
Corsair Vengeance LPX - DDR4 2 x 16 GB
Intel Core i9 7900X X-series / 3.3 GHz processor
NVIDIA Quadro P4000 8 GB

Thinking of purchasing
Cooler Master H500P ATX Mid-Tower Case (replacing my ancient but much beloved aluminum Lian Li from 2001)
MSI X299 TOMAHAWK ATX (any other suggestions)?
Cooler Master MA410P RGB CPU Air Cooler 4 CDC Heat Pipes Master Fan 120mm Intel/AMD AM4 Support
Win 10 install

Looks fine to me, but sure not about the HSF. How much did this build run you, and what are you using this for?

Yeah, that cooler for sure isn't the best performer, and the CPU you are using puts out some heat (and they only used a 7700k in this review, which is nowhere near the 7900X in TDP):.

My personal advice is if you are going to spend $900+ on a CPU, spend a little bit more on a better cooler. There's lots of good choices out there, but I am a fan of Noctua, so I'd recommend something like the NH-U14S.

Thanks for the info. I'm leaning to shifting to the ASUS TUF X299 MARK 2 and will look into the NH-U14S. As the items in hand were gifted, I am trying to build around them WHM1974. It is primarily used for image analysis.

I would definitely stay away from the H500P case. It has several problems for instance bad airflow, and generally seems like a low quality product. If you really like the aesthetic of the case get the updated H500P Mesh instead, they've resolved the most glaring issues the original H500P had.

Campy ... thanks for the help. My 20 year old case was expensive when I got it, so I decided to spend some more and go with something that might last longer. I am looking into a Rosewill cullina, NZXT h700i or Corsair Crystal Series 570X.
