Help! "Check system health V Core =?

Hi I am trying to upgrade from a PII 400 to a PIII 850 on a Gigabyte GA-686bx motherboard. I went to their site and got the Bios upgrade and flashed it, worked fine when the PII 400 was on board. I also checked for the multiplier on their board cause my manual doesn't cover PIII and set the dips accordingly.

I thought that it would detect and set the voltage automatically, it this not the case? When I turn it on I get the "Check system health V Core =? message and under processor it say mx -98.

Any help greatly appreciated.

It's possible that your board, like many of the older BX boards, cannot supply the lower voltages that Coppermines need.

Coppermines use a different table of voltages called VRM 8.4; the older Pentium III Katmais, along with the Pentium IIs, all used VRM 8.3. You may have a board that does not support VRM 8.4. Are you sure that your motherboard, or your particular revision of the motherboard, can support Coppermine processors?

Hmm, well I can't find any way to get a hold of gigabyte to be sure. What other ways can I find out?
