Help CD-Writer wouldn't burn, report error messages

Well I had this writer for nearly 2 years, tried to burn a data CD the other day, and this is the error reported by EZ CD Creator 4:

T0100: I/O error (03/73/03) - CD error - power calibration area error
T0100: I/O error (03/73/03) - CD error - power calibration area error
T7118: TrackWriter error - Command retry failed

I don't know much about cd burning/recording, so I tried Nero 4 to burn and it wouldn't work either, with a half page of errors which I don't remember. I even thought about OS/writer incompatibility, so I installed XP but still, the same error was reported.

Any comments/help/suggestions would be appreciated,

I got these errors too, uing Nero 5.0.4.6.

I've switched to Nero 5.5.5.1 and now I get only one error.

"Could not complete Disk at Once" I dont know what that means.


Try I differnt burning program might help.

So you haven't made any changes to your OS or burning software, and all of a sudden the burner doesn't work? Sounds like it may be dead.

Nothing is actually been done, still win2K, still the same system setup, but I did reformat my system a while ago. I'll try Nero 5.5 and see how it goes.
