Hmm, what's your CD-burning software? Maybe try reinstalling it under WinXP and see if it adds UDF support or whatever it's wanting?

Hey thanks for replying...

I used Easy CD Creator program with Drag and Drop style. I dont wanna reinstall it again, it might cause system instability. Thats what it said when i was upgrading to XP.
Should I buy new version of it??? or Should I buy a differrent program?

What do you think?

Thanks!

I went out and bought version Roxio's Easy CD Creator 5 when I upgraded to XP. (So I'm still behind a version -- yet again.) As I recall, I could still read both CDRs and CD-RWs with XP even w/o the Easy CD software loaded. The UDF driver software is included with XP to read CR-RWs. Apparently there was a problem though, because if you go to Roxio's software updates page, at the bottom there is a version of the UDF Reader that is new than what came with XP. You might try that, but since UDF Reader is supposedly for CD-RWs, it may not make any difference. Something to try though.

Easy CD Creator was Adaptec right? If so, then the drag-and-drop program was Direct CD which is not compatible with Win XP. I learned about this after the fact as well, but I did not lose anything I really needed, so I gave it very little thought. I do know that Version 4 of the Adaptec software will create all sorts of problems if you try to install it in XP. Bad idea! I do not know if there are newer versions of the software that will work with XP.

Good luck.

You could possibly use "IsoBuster : The Ultimate CD/DVD data recovery tool !" or another recovery program to extract the info on the cds to your harddrive and then reburn using something better than EZ (which is probably everything else ;)) I've used it in the past on many cds that were failed burns from the in-laws. It's shareware so what have you got to lose?
