A **cough** friend **cough** was going to Redmond Washington to visit someone who works for Microsoft. I asked him to pick up some software and was VERY specific about what to get and how much I was willing to pay. Long story short he substituted Picture it 7.0 for Picture it Platinum (photo editor edition) and he told me originally that the Magic School Bus series were 4 in a package and they were 10 bucks for the package. When he came back he said they were 10 bucks for each disc...which I never agreed to pay since I can buy the retail version at Staples for 10 bucks. Also he brought me these discs in a black and white paper covers...kinda look like a free giveaway type thing, certainly doesn't look like they were purchased in the Microsoft store. Also he said he was able to get one 3 pack as well which I do believe since they were all color...but he could be lying about that as well.
Here is what I would like to catch him and totally bust him in front of all the guys at work.
A Microsoft employee (with a real sense of fair play) to check the prices of...
Magic school bus software in Black and white cardboard covers or find out if they even sell them in the store like that because they were not sealed and could not be sealed in this packaging...almost all software is sealed though.
Picture it 7.0
And the policy on taxation of these items...he is saying that the tax is 10%
I know how big of a fool I must look like but, since I was trying to help him get qualified on his current job and trying to get him into a better department since I have pull with the guy who makes the decision over there AND since we are both computer geeks AND since I have made things much easier than most trainees have it AND since I have been to his house for dinner AND he keeps saying how good our kids play together and we need to get together more often. I would have never expected him to lie to me.
The reason I know he is lying is because at first he said I he spent a 150 of my money, so I would not speak to him for a couple days and told him I was upset about what he got for the money and that it was not what we agreed upon. Then after 2 days he said "Hey I looked at it and I didn't spend 140 like I said the other day but it was only 130" And he has backpedaled on the tax issue from a previous conversation.
I am not looking to get any more money out of him, but I want everyone to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is a guy that will lie and steal from his fellow employees. He can sleep in his own bed from there.
If you need more clarification or anything else you can email me at Bartimaeus_the_blind_one@yahoo.com
Thanks in advance because I know AT'ers love fair play and like to see liars take it in the pooper.
