*HELP* Car audio question *HELP*

Okay, I got a 1998 GMC Sierra w/just a standard 2 seater cab, I want to put in some 12.1" Infinity Kappa Perfects behind my seats. Does anyone know if that is possible? It looks like a tight squeeze, they have great sound and I don't want to give up on the sound just so they'll fit in the truck... so will they fit? If they don't, do you know what type of subs will? I'm thinking about getting some JL audio subs instead. Please help,

12's require a decent size box to correctly make sound. Remember, even the best truck cab will never sound like a nice hatchback. Go to a stereo shop (small one) that does specialty fittings. Most folks are lucky to get 1-2 small 10's in their truck without ripping out the seats and spending a lot on custom mounting.

Kicker Solobarics or Soundstream SPL12's take <1 Cu Ft of airspace in a sealed enclosure, I think these are the two lowest....there are open air subs but they sound terrible.

thats about right, the smallest area decent sounding 10's take about .65 cu ft, so a 12 would require a bit more, double that for two, and thats quite a big box.

trade your wheels in for a integra hatchback, drop a pair of orion 12 HCCA and you can boom the hell of out everyone.

I have seen it done, but you'll be a lot better friends with your strg wheel. I would suggest some Kicker Solo-Barics. The new square one's would be a tight fit, but if you could find some of the older one's they would work well. I think they only need about .9 ft3 per sub, that shouldn't be a problem.

I've also considered taking out the console between the two seats and putting a sub box between there. I'm not trying to put multiple subs behind each seat, just one right behind it.

Sorry man. I'm too lazy to link em all. Copy, and paste will have to do.

I'm also way too limited on time to go into detail, but you need to do a LOT more research, before you buy. I hope this helps. Please adhere to the advice given on CAR AUDIO FORUMS, and not computer ones (no offense guys 🙂). They won't steer you the wrong way man. I would go with Elite car audio myself. I've learned quite a lot there.

Good luck man. 🙂
