Help Cant Install Win95

i want to install win95 because my xp pro has errors. and i dont like it that much either.

i put the cd in and go to d: but when i click setup it wont work and it says to do it in ms-dos prompt

so i restart the computer in comand prompt and it still doesnt work.

it wont work after the computer has loaded up. even while booting

is there a way to uninstall xp or install win95?

Get ahold of a bootdisk. Go into DOS that way. Make one from a friend's computer who is using Win95/98. It should work then. Don't go back to the 9x core though. That would be a big mistake. =(

I suppose you could mirror a boot floppy onto a CD-R, if you can boot your comp from CDROM.

This depends on if your mobo can use the CDROM as boot device. Check in the BIOS for that.
If it will, then you need access to a comp with a CD burner. You should be able to get the boot disk files from bootdisk.com (I've heard) or make one on a Win95 machine. Then copy
the boot files onto a CD-R. You should then be able to use that CD as a boot disk (again, assuming your comp will boot from CDROM). Then you can reformat the HD, and install Win95.

PS If you could get a Win98 CD you could skip the CD burning, they're bootable CDs. 😉
