I'm not sure about the process of going through this but this is what I did.

I got a new computer so I tried throwing in the HD from my old ocmp into my new comp. rebooted ran through Seagate wizard (its a Seagate) but it does not recognize the HD at all. Went into BIOS to see if I could do anythign but it does give me any other options besides "OFF". So after messing with it for a a while and trying to get it working I giave up and deicided to throw it back into the old comp and just use it. BUT when I put it back in the old comp now THAT gave me the same error! Someone help!

You may have a bad IDE/SATA cable, a bad power connector, or a bad disk controller on the motherboard. Do you have another system in which to test?

I got the old system to run again, but when I retried the new system with my old HD it DID recognize it but it would show boot up option screen where I can load Safe Mode or Continue Normally in which either choice just send it back into a loop of restarting and going through the whole process all over again.

Im betting the mother board drivers on the old operating system conflict with new system. Heres my thoughts on it. (based on it booting to the safe mode part)

You can
1-get another drive and install operating system on it, using the old drive as a d:Drive
2-delete windows dir in dos. and reinstall windows on that drive(not a great idea)
3-try to get the drivers for the new motherboard(including drive conrollers ect) installed, probably have to do on your old system. This is a big pain...its sometimes possible though if you must do it.

Were you trying to boot from the new system with the old hard drive? Or were you trying to install it as a slave drive in the new computer??
