help can not add music file to ipod/tune play list

some mp3 files wont go into itune
I drag and drop to the list but nothing happens...
these mp3 files are 'paid', I paid for them from music website

i can only put apple's file on my iPOD?
but some files that aren't from apples goes on to iTune just fine..

when you buy songs, they are protected. AFAIK, itunes and the ipod only play apple's drm protected files. Thats what you can play all your regular mp3s on your ipod but if you bought the songs from somewhere other than the apple music store, you wont be able to play them. I'm no expert, so wait for a conformation or correction to this...

oh, that sounds like what's going on
so file has to be either not protected or apple protected?
anyway to remove the protection? or load mp3 onto ipod without itune?
