HELP! Can my motherboard support this?

Hey all,

I currently own an Abit BX6r2 mobo (440BX chipset). It has a max clock multiplier of x9 and supports 66/100mhz FSB, and a voltage of 1.3v to 2.3v. I also have a new generic PSU of 230W. I would like to know what is the best CPU that I can buy for this mobo. Is it a celeron 900mhz or a P3-900? or can I only go by what Abit says and have max 700mhz? I'll have to buy a slocket for it anyway...

Cheers,

maxxy

In theory you should be OK with a 1 GHz P3, just be sure to get a 100 MHz version unless you can select a 133 FSB & have the memory + graphics card to support it.

I got both 1ghz @ 133mhz and 1ghz @ 100mhz, both works, using elsa geforce 2 gts video card on the 133 version with Crucial PC133, couldn't get pc100 to work, need real pc133..

have to use manual setting, no auto setting.
