Hello, I want to buy a Router for my Home LAN (Wired and Wireless) but I have no idea what to look for and what are some good brands.
This is what I have set up at home.

5 Computers (3 Desktops, 2 Laptops)
2 Cable modems
3 10/100 Switches
1 Linux server that acts as an FTP server, Mail Server, and Web Server.
2 WI-FI 802.11a Access Points (D-Link and Netgear) (But having probs with range connectivity, weird)

Right now our Linux server is being used as a gateway to the internet and it doesn't have a firewall. A problem I have is when I go to IRC or FTP I can't resume file sends/uploads but if I download files from another place I can resume my downloads.

We have 2 computers connected to the linux server via switches and 1 computer that has it's own cable modem connection. We would like to have access to all the computers in the house because it is a pain in the butt trying to send files from the solo computer to the rest of the computers in the network.

I thought that maybe a Router would work for us but I have no idea what to get. I want firewall security, semi-ease of use, lots of features and options, reliable and won't cost more than an arm and a leg. I talked to some people and read the forums and saw that D-Link and Linksys Routers were good starters and if I wanted top notch I should grab a Cisco router. I'm very interested in the Cisco brand of routers but I don't know which model to get. They have sooooooo many and I didn't see any mention of "Cable" only DSL.

If I go with a cisco could you suggest where I might find one that is relatively inexpensive.. I imagine that the low end routers go for about 200 bucks... but if I can get it cheaper it would be great!.

If you need any more info please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you.
