Help buying a Notebook!

I am seriously considering buying a notebook within the next few days and am having trouble finding a machine that fits my requirements.
Requirements
1. Less then 7 pounds
2. Reasonably fast processor (mobile p4 or athlon XP are both fine)
3. Non integrated graphics (geforce 440, 460, radeon 7500 9000... are all fine)
4. Relatively high resolution screen (more then 1024 by 768, higher the better, as my current screen is the sgi 1600sw (1600 by 1024))
5. USB 2.0 and or Firewire
6. Cost around $2000 or less

So far the only machines that I have seen that work are the compaq 2800T, which is no longer sold, or the one of the widescreen VPR matrix notebooks.
If anyone has any other ideas or comments on those machines they would be appreciated.

there was a recent hot deal on closetout vpr matrix (non widescreen) discontinued notebooks.

specs
model 120-180b5
p4 1.8m
15" xga
cdrw/dvd
firewire
512mb
30 gb
radeon 7500 32mb

it was $999 adn i'm sure people are ebaying them so you can probably pick one up there for $1050 or so

Look into the Dell 8200, there is a 15% off coupon till today I believe.

And then you can BUY another 15 % coupon from chubby wallet forums and you'll get 30% off plus $200 off all web orders

he said "less than 7lbs".

check out the Inspiron 4150 instead. i think you can get the 4150 in SXGA.

I was considering the 4150 or the latitude 640 but as far as I can tell they support neither USB 2.0 or firewire, and having a high-speed external option is important for me, besides that they fit nicely, as they do have sxga screens, great warranty, solid performance, but the missing ports are a deal killer.

If there are no more suggestions I am heading to costco to check if they happen to have any refurbed 2800T's in stock (not likely but worth a shot) and if not I am heading to bestbuy to play with the notebook and if I like it buy it. Thanks for the advice, to bad the best machine for what I want is the powerbook 15 inch, but I cant justify the extra $700-800 for it.

I bought the vpr 200A5 for $1600 after rebate, it seems very solid, great screen, fast, about 3:00 battery life with wifi on (just web browsing, havent tried it with a dvd yet). Pretty much my only complaint is due to the widescreen it wont fit in most labtop case so I have to find one capable of fitting a notebook with dimensions 13.9 by 10.0 by 1.21, of which their are a couple, not a big deal though.
