HELP BSOD

Last night while I was not even using my pc I got the dreaded BSOD. This pc is a fairly new setup. It has been running fine for about two months. Well I tried to reboot and it would get to the logon screen and when I tried to logon it would hang forever. This whole time the hdd led was on. Never could get it to load. went to safe mode and msconfig and disabled everything still no luck. So since I had everythingIi needed backed up(luckily) I decided maybe a reformat and a fresh install would work. Well it did for about 20 minutes, then it bsoded again. repartitioned and reformatted again and now still BSOD. Here is the error KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE-ERROR. Now when I boot none of my drives are being detected. I cleared the CMOS and it recognized them until I started to install then another BSOD. This is different than the one I got last night but the same one I keep getting today. Anyone have anyidea what this could be?

Look at the voltages for your power supply in your bios. If the 12v, 5v or any of the other voltages aren't close to what they should be, then your power supply may be going bad. This is probably the case since your hard drives are only detected sometimes. You can also try to remove un-needed drives so it will put less strain on the power supply. I think your power supply does 12v@15a, so if you get a replacement, find a good quality supply that does more than 15 amps on the 12v rail.

Overclocking the cpu or ram too much could possibly cause this, too. Try slower ram timings/speeds and see if it will help. PC2100 should run at 133mhz or less.

I havent overclocked this rig at all. (wife is getting sick of buying me new parts) I was leaning towards the psu myself. when i check in the BIOS the +12v is steady at 11.71v that is with everything but one hdd unplugged. the -12v fluctuates between 11.70-12.03. With all I have read on these forums and with the suggestions here, I am going to assume it is the PSU. I just wanted to make sure so that I don't have to pay shipping twice if it is the HDD. And I really wanted to make sure that no one thought it was the board or cpu. If any one thinks it could be something else please chime n as I am convinced I can get mrs. tightwad to open the purse a little to get this thing running.

Thanks

well after further testing i believe that not only is my PSU bad but i think that one of the hdds are bad too. when i hook up the other drive i can get it to load windows. I loaded digi doc that came with my board and i see that the voltage is dropping at least a 1/2 volt every few seconds. That cant be normal!

I am ordering a new hdd and psu Thank for your input. If this doen't work I will be back!
