Help - Broken Fan on GeForce

I have a dilemma with my computer, and I'm pretty sure it's being caused by my video card. There are transparent, dark bands going across my monitor horizontally. I thought it might be my monitor, but I plugged in another one and it does the same thing. So I took my video card out today, and the fan is broken off and dangling by wires. It's an Asus 6800 GeForce 256 DDR. I'm assuming the card is overheating. When I touched it, it was as hot as hell. What would any of you suggest I do? Can the fan be fixed, or do I need a new card? Or is this even the problem, because even when the card is cold, just having started my computer, the dark bands appear. Thanks.

Have you tried to RMA it?
Try a spare video card to see if the lines go away?

If it's not under warranty then get some thermal epoxy and reattach it.

What does it mean to RMA it?

The card is no longer under warranty. Unfortunately I do not have a spare video card to test either.

don't buy a geforce 2 mx. your current card is faster. just replace the fan and heatsink if it's overheating. what does the monitoring software say about the fan? smart dr. should say that it's not working if you have it installed.

The fan doesn't need thermal epoxy. Just super glue or the like. You want the fan to soak in the heat? :)

:) I was thinking the heatsink fell off as well, but now I'm not so sure anymore.
