HELP!! Biostar M7SFX no sound on games through AC97

Built a system for a friend used this mobo at his request, now when he dnlds some games there is no sound, should I get him a soundcard and bypass AC97 {its AVANCE}? Thanks for your help guys.

What OS is he using? I've found it necessary to get drivers DIRECTLY from Avance when integrating a board with the Avance codec.
