Did you install the latest SiS AGP driver for your board? Also I would run Driver Cleaner (follow the instructions) and reinstall the latest 52.16 drivers again.

I have a Fx5200 and was having similar problems with drivers from nividia. Everytime I would go into the driver options my screen would flash, I would get booted off while playing some games. So the best driver for the Fx 5200? Their isn't one, I went out and bought a BBA Radeon 9800 pro and wwwwoooowwww!!!!What a difference! I did a complete reformat on my hardrive and have enjoyed a new level of gaming!Just beat Max Payne 2, now the detail in that game is great. And remember christmas is coming. Sorry if I got off the subject, it's just there is nothing out there to help Nividia's crappy fx lineup.

Few things you could try, as stated try it in another PC to rule out a faulty card, then if it`s not faulty keep PCi slot one empty(nearest to agp slot) also what PSU do you have?
Other things to try are slower ram timing in BIOS,disable all video shadowing, disable video ram cacheable, how`s your case cooling try it with case open?
I`m guessing at this stage it sounds like a bad card but you need to test it in another PC .

I presume it also freezes on other games as well?

ZL1,
There are quite a few different ECS K7S5A board models available do you know what model version you `ve ie is it a Pro V5 or V3.1 or V1.1 etc,the reason I ask is I can check the BIOS files for updates etc which might be related.
Btw the latest SiS AGP driver is 117 ,I went to one ECS site and they still had an old version (110 )listed anyway you can download the latest 117 version from here (for all , 2K,XP,98 ,ME etc).

My backup PC has an ECS K7S5A Pro V5 board and these options are available in BIOS, so try these settings ,system bios cacheable "disabled" ,SDR/DDR CAS latency "SPD" ,
Timing setting mode "normal",set AGP aperture size to 64mb or 128mb(try both). One last question are you using onboard sound?

You should install latest DX9.0b as well if you`ve not done so already.
yep using the onboard audio, why ?
I thought of that, but I didnt want to because it kills my 3dmark2001se for some reason, when installed the mark will say it needs 8.1 to runOriginally posted by: Mem

Just wondering, some game crashes can be sound driver related rather then video card related, however you did say you get corrupted graphics so in your case I`m 99% sure it`s a video card problem.
Video BIOS shadowing: Your system will perform better with this setting at disabled. As you can read in the MS Knowledge base, shadowing is not an advantage. Only enable this if you still use DOS mode a lot, where it can improve performance.
Video BIOS cacheable: set this to disabled. Your system does not access the video cards BIOS, it uses drivers to do so. Only enable this if you still use DOS mode games a lot, where it can improve performance.
System BIOS cacheable: set this to disabled. The system BIOS is very rarely accessed when you are using your PC after it boots up.
Q: I installed DirectX 9 and now 3DMark2001 SE tells me that I need DirectX 8.1, what gives?
A: We have noticed this behavior and the solution is quite easy. Uninstall your 3DMark2001 SE, download the latest version (Build 330) if you don`t have it already, reboot your machine and install 3DMark2001 SE again.
