Hi all,
i too have tried running a 2500+ Barton ( AXDA2500DKV4D AQZFA 0340SPMW) and 2x256MB Corsair TwinMX PC3200LL on an A7N8X-DLX Rev 1.04, Bios ver 1004, at 200fsb with no luck whatsoever? I tried various different combinations of multi/fsb/volts etc but it just wouldn't stabilise at all..... after reading so many posts on these chips i thought "what the heck, i'll go for one of these puppies" but it don't get anywhere near my current T/Bred B 2100+ ( can't remember the steppings?) which is very stable at 200x11 (2205) with memory timings at "aggressive" 5.2.2.2.
I've given up with the Bartons for now as the first one i bought was advertised as an XP2800+ Barton only to find out that it was infact a T/Bred B, so i returned it hence the reason i got the 2500+.
So apart from wasting precious time on them chips i'm drawn to the conclusion that i'll be hard pushed to find a better cpu than my current one, considering it only cost me £60 a few months back. The 2500+ now resides in my server running at a "lowly" 166fsb and it's quite happy chugging along like a diesel van, as long as i leave it alone, lol....
I may be tempted to try again in the future, but this time i'll really "up" the voltage, coz i recently read somewhere these cpu's like lots of juice to get high fsb's, so maybe i'll give it a whirl? if it blows up, it blows up!
Anyway .......
