My steppings are:
AXDA2500KV4D Z342247240051
AQZFA 0340SPMW

What's the point of running CPU-Z with everything else? it just polls the chipset for information. Unless I'm missing something.

What will be the best memory to run at 200 FSB with this setup? I am done with the TwinX Corsair I have, it simply doesnt cut it at 200FSB. I want to put this memory in another board and try a new set of sticks. Please suggest.
Thanks

2500+
Antec Smartpower 350W
ATI AIW 8500 128MB

See my post above. I was not able to get my A7N8X deluxe 2.0/2500+/PC3200 RAM to run at 200 FSB regardless of the multiplier. I got rid of that board and now use the Gigabyte board which rocks.

I know this isn't what you want to hear but it works for me. I'm now an official Asus "hater". :|

I read on the nforcershq forum that BIOS 1004 has been produced best results for Barton 2500 and corsair memory. I just flashed my BIOS to 1004 and memtest ran FSB 192 15 passes without errors. I wonder if this is the best it can do?

Calvinh you seem to be having a lot of problems with your setup... :( Bad luck, it seems like a good system on paper.

I have an A7N8X-DLX MB rev 2.0 with a Barton 2500+, I've been using the UBER 1004 BIOS for many months now. RAM is Infineon 2 x 512MB PC3200. With this I can run at a FSB of 220MHz with mem in sync. 2.35GHz max overclcock.

I use it at standard 3200+ speed 11x200 at default vcore 1.65v. I'm very happy with the whole system and it's speed and stability. I play games a lot and make DivX movies.... never had stability problems. Prime95 ran fine.

The Asus board isn't that bad... sure some are unlucky and have problems with them but its quite a solid board otherwise.

Good luck with your system.

Hi all,
i too have tried running a 2500+ Barton ( AXDA2500DKV4D AQZFA 0340SPMW) and 2x256MB Corsair TwinMX PC3200LL on an A7N8X-DLX Rev 1.04, Bios ver 1004, at 200fsb with no luck whatsoever? I tried various different combinations of multi/fsb/volts etc but it just wouldn't stabilise at all..... after reading so many posts on these chips i thought "what the heck, i'll go for one of these puppies" but it don't get anywhere near my current T/Bred B 2100+ ( can't remember the steppings?) which is very stable at 200x11 (2205) with memory timings at "aggressive" 5.2.2.2.
I've given up with the Bartons for now as the first one i bought was advertised as an XP2800+ Barton only to find out that it was infact a T/Bred B, so i returned it hence the reason i got the 2500+.
So apart from wasting precious time on them chips i'm drawn to the conclusion that i'll be hard pushed to find a better cpu than my current one, considering it only cost me £60 a few months back. The 2500+ now resides in my server running at a "lowly" 166fsb and it's quite happy chugging along like a diesel van, as long as i leave it alone, lol....
I may be tempted to try again in the future, but this time i'll really "up" the voltage, coz i recently read somewhere these cpu's like lots of juice to get high fsb's, so maybe i'll give it a whirl? if it blows up, it blows up!
