I think we broke her :(

She requires constant rocking in a vertical position. The minute I lay her flat or even propped up head on a pillow, the wailing starts. Teething? Infection? Broken babby? Not sure how much longer we can keep this up, require sleep to be functioning parental units.

She's training you, stop picking her up and she'll stop crying after she realizes it doesn't work.

Babby's don't know what's good for them and they'll let you ruin them if you let them call the shots.

Colic is possible which is otherwise known as acid indigestion. May want to see your Dr about a prescription for baby Prevacid.

My last had it and the medicine took the crying from round the clock to just a couple if hours a day.

My eldest probably had it as well but we didn't realize it and just didn't sleep for a year.

Meant to add. If it is acid when you lay her down the acid comes up her throat and hurts.

Vertical it keeps everything where it should be.

Had to do this with both my kids. It has been awhile but if I remember right after a week or so the crying subsided and they fell to sleep just fine in their rooms. OP please tell me the baby isn't in your room. Set your boundaries early and you and your wife will be thankful for it.

Does babby cry when held horizontally in your arms?

She was, but eventually I was able to rock her to sleep (or else she just cried herself to sleep.) I think she picked up a cold because she woke up super snotty.

Mine had colic. If I held him and walked he was fine. If I stopped moving...hell broke loose.

Whoa, don't ever wake up Super Snotty.

Grats on the baby.

How old is babby and did she sleep okay until recently? Could be teething depending on age. Ours was a mess for a week or so every time a new tooth came in. He was 5-6 months old when it started. Baby Motrin helped when he got old and fat enough to take it.

Oh and congrats on babby.

Send baby to Olds basement.... that will teach her quickly not to whine when she's with you. ;):D

Both mine had acid re-flux and this sounds very similar to them. There are two things you need to do:

1) Talk to your doctor to see if this is the case and get her re-flux medicine as patarus suggested (some symptoms are: lots of groaning, lot of spit-up, crying when laying flat & eating more than they need to because it temporarily soothes the pain).
2) Try to have her sleep inclined because the acid is going up her throat. If she is inclined it should be less of a problem. See if she will fall asleep in her car seat without a problem. If so, get her something like this https://www.toysrus.com/product?productId=133066926.

Go to the doctor because if it is re-flux there can be some dangerous side effects if not treated.
