Yeah, adding more ram can lead to instability. (more than one slot) Take for instance the mushkin revision 2. Mushkin told me that by adding additonal sticks of ram it loses the ability to run as fast. (I am not exactly sure why, I'm sure some other person here could give you a long boring rant about it) I know that two chips won't run at 143 cas3 on my comp whereas either stick alone runs 152 cas2.

Yup, overclocked PCI problem it sounds like. Your FAT prolly got corrupted and possibly any data that was accessed when you ran the computer. Chances are your programs and data is mostly there, but renamed to the 8.3 filenames (i.e. 8 letter f-name, 3 digit extension, a-la DOS), so all your files will be renamed, such as YOURFILENAME.HERE = YOURFI~1.HER

That explains the start menu. Windows is looking for "C:\windows\start menu\programs", whereas all your shortcuts are now in "C:\windows\startm~1\programs".

Good news: Your data is probably all still there.
Bad news: You've got some renaming to do.
Lesson: If you overclock, watch that damned PCI bus.
