HELP !!! ASUS P8Z77-V Pro Powers Up But No Video, No Beep

Just put together this system.

ASUS P8Z77-V Pro
i7-3770k CPU
Sapphire HD7950 OC
2x G.Skill F3-12800 DDR3 SDRAM
Adata SX-900 256Gb SSD
Antech EA-750 Green 750W

System powers up, but there's no video signal and and no beep. Removed the video card and connected to onboard video, but same results. No Video signal and beep.

Would seriously appreciated any ideas on how to fix this.

If there's no beep, then I think that means it's not posting, which could be so many things. So, start by seeing if it's the RAM. Take out one stick and see if it works. If not, putthat stick back in and take out the other.

Is it installed in case? Are you sure you got the standoffs right?
Did you connect both power connectors to the motherboard?

No POST / Video Video is a common. To complete POST, a Power Supply, motherboard, CPU, RAM, and Video card are required.

like mfenn said. Standoffs (the little studs that screw into the case and then you mount the motherboard to) can cause this. So if you installed this in a case, check the standoff's positioning so make sure they're lined up with the mobo's mounting holes.

To perform PD on the No POST issue, disconnect anything you don't need. hard drives, USB devices, cd/dvd devices, remove expansion PCI/ PCIE cards...etc

Verify you have the Power supply hooked up correctly and plugs seated well.

You've already pull the VGA, step one. Next is the pull hte RAM out. If you get a POST error, that's a good thing. that means the mobo is working correctly. Install the RAM back in ONE STICK AT A TIME, boot up and see if you get POST to complete or error out.

If the board doesn't return a POST error with no RAM installed, then it could be the onboard video causing hte problem. You'll want to clear the CMOS by following the guide in your manual.

If still no luck, inspect the CPU socket for bent pins, if all looks good....reinstall the CPU carefully and make sure you install it correctly.

Just remember, MOtherboard POST is looking for 3 things: CPU,RAM,and VGA.

POST errors are not your enemy!

Thanks all, turns out the ram sticks weren't making a full connection. This is the first M/B that I've ever seen where the ram retention clips only open on one end. Consequently, hearing the clip engaging on the one end doesn't mean it's inserted properly. You seriously need to push hard on the end that doesn't open for it to seat properly. YTF would they design it like that?

Fewer moving parts means cheaper components. You'll hear some reviewers like Ian Cutress on the main site brag about how awesome they are, but I honestly think it's a terrible design. As you've discovered, it's completely non-obvious when the far side isn't seated.

Glad it was something simple. And thanks for updating with the fix...additional information that can help others
