I just pick up the game for 10 bucks at fry's. I even included the expansion pack. Sooo, anyone want to help escort a newbie around 😛
 
Why do you want to get escorted around? You will have enough trouble crossing one zone as a new character. Work on getting some levels first.

hehe, man it is kind of weird. I don't see the big deal. Oh well I will try out the one month free and see what it is like. Kind of slow and un exciting so far.

I got it at fry's for sale cheap.
 
Im an EQ nut. It's fun, but don't try it if you have an addictive personality. I don't smoke, I don't drink, don't do drugs, do have a wife, do have a child, and do (moderately) play everquest. But, there are few like me, it will consume you if you have an addictive personality.

Why do people have such a huge problem with paying a monthly fee to play a game? You pay an ISP to use their (DNS, dialup) servers, so why do you have a problem paying Verant to use their game server? And it's less than $10 a month (significantly less if you purchase 3 or 6 month packages)... Just don't SuperSize your next meal or hit Taco Bell more often for lunch.

Boogat, the problem is 99% of the people complaining have never actually played a MMORPG. Once you actually get in and start playign and see what your money is being used for and how unbelievably complex the worlds are, that won't be a problem anymore. Of course, you may quit because it's too addictive, your character got deleted.. (uhh.. I guess it's possible you wouldn't like those kinds of games.. all 1% of you..) But you never hear of anyone quittin because of the montly fee. It's either a full month of the best gaming you'll ever play or... 2 hours at the movies.
 
Started with UO, almost GM Mage, quit, char deleted, started EQ, 40 druid, 23 TSK, quit, chars deleted, back to UO, GM Swords, quit, char deleted. 🙂
 
I just purchased this game to see whats the addiction about. Hmmmm... not very addicting to me. Its a great game just to seat around and chat with others. Also its good games if people takes you around the world and giving you SOW all da time. A friend of mines just started 2 weeks ago and his TOTALY ADDICTED to this game. His got NO LIFE, NO JOB, NO FRIEND, NO SCHOOL, NO MONEY, etc.... But he tells me that his char on evercrack is kickin serious ass thats all he talks about whenever i see him. Seriously, If you can control yourself and only play in the softcore gamer way then its a Good game to have and play, but if you're a hardcore gamer I'll advice you not to go into this game. Anyone on bertoxx server can help out a low lvl wizard? hehehehe

My view is that once you buy the game, you should not have to pay a subscription cost just to play it. One single charge is enough. And yes I did play when it first came out, cool game that quickly loses its appeal.
