Ok...I was working on my computer and everything was going good. Win98 installed and my SB LIVE card and Leadtek Geforce DDR card were in as were my modem. Everything was working. Then I plugged in the decoder card. I ran all the cables like the manual said. I plugged the monitors cable into the dvd card and then ran the included converter cable to the vid card. I turned the system on and it didn't post. So I took out the dvd card and tried again. Nothing. Then I thought maybe I had to reset something in the agp slot so I took out the vid card and tried booting up with it and then I put it back in and booted up. Still nothing. The manual did not state whether or not the cables should be ran to it before the drivers were installed. Am I to assume that those damn cables fried my video card or what. I can't see why it would have.

Try reseating your CPU/Ram. Also check your power lead. It sounds like something was jostled--I ssume you are not getting any fan activity at all when you power on? No chance you disconnected the power cord when working on the DVD and forgot to plug it back in? :)

Edit: typo

Sorry, I should've explained myself better. ALL fans are running and the power is definately plugged in. The dvd DRIVE and burner both flash when I turn on the computer and the HD revs up. However, the bios never boots.

Have you tried pulling everything and booting with only your video card, mem and cpu in? If not, try that. If that fails, try clearing your cmos.

I had a similar sounding situation before.

Any beeps?

Is your video card loose?

Like JimMc, check if the CPU and fan and all power cables are in the correct locations.

Failing that, unplug every card except the video card and see if that works. If it does, plug in something and test one at a time to see if you can isolate the problem.

Yes the card is in there right. Everything was going great until the decoder card went in so all cables are in the right spot. Then everything went to hell. I am getting no beeps. The only thing I can think of is that maybe the pass through cables or whatever might of sent a bad signal to the vid card and smoked it. I sure hope that can't happen, but I don't know.

If the cable damaged your video card you would still get beeps from your system, so that's likely not the problem.
