i was messing around with user accounts on my other computer and deleted the main one that it autologs onto. When i restarted the computer it asks for a password to the deleted account, there never was a password and the account doesn't exist. I've tried safe mode, repair console, and i can't figure it out. help me please.

Boot into safe mode. Log on to the administrator account. If you don't remember the password, you'll have to hack it. Search for Hiren's BootCD 7.9 if you need a password reset tool. There are about 5 different ones on it.

the problem is that i can't change which user to logon with. for some reason it won't give me the admin option. only the user account i deleted. and that had no password, plus it's not even there. so what the hell am i supposed to do, frustrating!!> I'm getting the bootcd, so maybe I can use that to help. Would using a windows xp bootdisk help at all?? I guess i'll check that too.

To get the normal logon screen in WinXP with fast user switching enabled, press ctrl + alt + delete twice.

If you really do want to restore a particular deleted account in XP, you can also do so by restoring the System State from a recent full system backup.

If you REALLY can't get into an XP computer, even in Safe Mode using the built-in Administrator account (because you don't remember the Administrator password), you can always use one of the password-reset boot disks to reset the password for the Administrator account to blank.
