alright, i've got the biggest dilemma of my computer life so far.

My PC has 2 OSes: Windows 2000 on one harddrive, Windows XP on the second harddrive. Both use NTFS so I can see Windows XP files when using Win2k and vice versa.

However, when I installed Windows XP I chose to have my files encrypted so that no other user can access them. Now my Windows XP won't work - I can't even log in. When I select to use Windows XP, the splash screen comes up with the horizontal bar at the bottom but after that the screen goes blank. Now I can't access any of my personal files on the Windows XP drive even though I can see them using my Windows 2000.

What can I do??
Any help is appreciated!!

I haven't tried this, but if you could try installing your backup copy of the WinXP encryption keys onto W2k - they should be compatible.

You should then be able to remove the encryption from the files.

Failing that, you will have to reinstall XP, and reinstall your encryption keys from your backup.

If you didn't backup your encryption keys - your data is gone.
